Lead Metering and Delivery Sistem

The system meters the quantity of lead delivery to the pouring ladle, in the exact amount necessary for each pour. Overflow and return of excess metal to the pot are thus avoided. The feed of lead is controlled by dosing valve, mounted on the outlet of the rotary pump and synchronized with the casting machine. The feedline is insulated and electrically heated, under control of a thermostat, to boost the temperature of the lead.

The lead metering and delivery system is a standard application on all the SOVEMA casting machines, but is also a profitable addition to any caster with conventional feed system:
the absence of lead minimizes agitation and formation of dross - that means less consumption of metal and alloy composition
the position of the valve, immersed in the lead, does away with the need of frequent cleaning and assures a long and trouble free service
thanks to the boots on the feedline, the pot can be maintained at a lower temperature, thus saving energy and, again, reducing dross.


DJH version
In this version the feeding pipe is heated by Joule process overcoming, in this way, the maintenance due to the replacement of the heating elements.
